1. A method for making an object having a set of randomly dispersed non-photocopyable elements physically associated with the object authenticatable, comprising:
determining an arrangement of the set of randomly dispersed non-photocopyable elements physically associated with the object by acquiring at least two different images of the elements; generating a cryptographically authenticated secure digital signature code from a cryptographic function, from which the arrangement of the set of randomly dispersed non-photocopyable elements physically associated with the object cannot be ascertained, but the identity of a subsequently measured arrangement of the set of randomly dispersed non-photocopyable elements physically associated with the object represented in the digital signature code acquired after the determining, with the determined arrangement is statistically verifiable based on at least a stochastic analysis of deviations of between the subsequently determined arrangement and the determined arrangement; and associating the digital signature code with the object. |
