The present invention relates to a battery housing for an electric vehicle, which has air permeability to improve the cooling performance of a battery and has watertightness to improve the stability of the battery. According to the present invention, the battery housing for an electric vehicle includes: a main body having one or more openings and an accommodating space wherein one or more batteries are installed; and a louver unit having an edge adhering to the periphery of the openings of the main body and a plurality of inclined ribs provided at intervals in a vertical direction from the edge. The inclined ribs are inclined upward to the inner side of the main body. First and second inclined surfaces at opposite inclination angles are continuously provided at the bottom of the edge.
