Disclosed is a TV channel recommending method. The method includes the steps of: receiving the watching time and the channel information that a user watches; storing a watching frequency for at least one channel in a specific time based on the received watching time and the channel information; receiving a channel recommendation request; controlling the stored watching frequency value based on either a first watching frequency control value which is generated based on a watching pattern to indicate the loyalty to the watching channel in the target time of the channel recommendation request or a second frequency control value which is generated based on the watching frequency value for the watching channel in the time which is adjacent to the target time; and determining a recommendation channel based on the controlled watching frequency value.
