<p>The method involves applying a polymerizable composite layer (4) to a damaged inner surface (31) of a base flange (3) and an adjacent piece i.e. triple tubing. An elastic seal i.e. O-ring joint (5), is placed on the polymerizable composite layer at a junction between the base flange and the adjacent piece after polymerizing polymerizable composite material i.e. elastomer. A metallic reinforcing collar (6) is positioned to press the elastic seal against a surface of the base flange covered with the polymerizable composite material. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for in-situ repairing of a base flange of a wellhead.</p> |
