Disclosed are an object identification apparatus, a method thereof, and a recording medium having a computer program recorded therein. According to the present invention, the present invention learns information on relationship with adjacent feature points when learning the feature points for object identification, and identifies whether the object regarding the feature points extracted from an input image exists or not based on the information on relationship with the learned feature points and the adjacent feature points, thereby effectively obtaining the characteristics of histogram of gradient (HOG) of an area around strong feature points.
