Provided is a method for producing a polyacrylic acid (salt)-based water-absorbable resin, whereby it becomes possible to produce the water-absorbable resin having excellent properties while keeping the productivity thereof at a high level by increasing the efficiency of addition of an additive and/or air bubbles to be added to a monomer. In the method, a step of preparing an aqueous monomer solution comprises a sub-step of preparing an aqueous solution and a sub-step of adding a water-insoluble additive and/or air bubbles, wherein the retention time from the time point of the addition of the water-insoluble additive and/or the air bubbles till the time point of the initiation of polymerization is 1 to 60 seconds.
