Eyeglasses for tactical use comprise two oculars. Each ocular has a substrate, a quarter-wave retarder, and a linear polarizer. The substrate is hardened to provide impact protection. The quarter-wave retarders of each ocular and the linear polarizers of each ocular provide glare protection and reduce blackout of screens having linear polarization. Both oculars have the quarter-wave retarder and the linear polarizer similarly oriented with a horizontal axis. |
