摘要 The invention relates to the field of medicine. The present method for predicting the postpartum critical development time of HIV infection consists in measuring the viral load count in a pregnant HIV-infected woman at the 12th week of pregnancy, prior to commencement of therapy to induce immune control of HIV, and determining the age of the woman and the duration of the disease in terms of number of full years plus number of full months divided by twelve. At the 30th week of pregnancy, against the background of the above-mentioned therapy, the number of CD4+-T lymphocytes is measured and a time count for the critical development of HIV infection postpartum is calculated using a specific formula. A prediction device comprises a base in the form of a disc marked with two concentric scales, one of which corresponds to outcome counts, and the other of which corresponds to a factor affecting these counts. Furthermore, four discs of smaller diameter are rotatably mounted coaxially with the base, said discs being marked with scales for other factors affecting the outcome counts. The diameter of each successive disc is smaller than the diameter of the preceding disc. Each disc is provided with a pointer in the form of a protrusion. The disc having the smallest diameter is not marked with a scale and is provided with two pointers, one of which is long enough to interact with the outcome count scale.
