Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for protecting a photovoltaic power facility. The method for protecting a photovoltaic power facility comprises: a step of detecting a first direct current/first direct current voltage generated by each of multiple photovoltaic modules by each of multiple individual module detection units connected with each of multiple photovoltaic modules directly connected with a photovoltaic connection board of a photovoltaic power facility; a step of detecting a second direct current/second direct current voltage generated in a power system for connecting multiple photovoltaic modules and a first circuit breaker by a central detection unit connected with multiple photovoltaic modules; a step of transmitting a first analog signal containing information with respect to a first direct current/first direct current voltage to a first control device by each of multiple individual module detection units; a step of transmitting a second analog signal containing information with respect to a second direct current/second direct current voltage to the first control device based on the first direct current/ first direct current voltage by the central detection unit; and a step of detecting an abnormality generated in a power system of the photovoltaic connection board based on a first digital signal conversion value converted from a first analog signal and a second digital signal conversion value converted from a second analog signal by the first control device. If a first control device detects the abnormality, abnormal occurrence information generated in the first control device is delivered to a second control device implemented in a system interconnection photovoltaic switchboard of the photovoltaic power facility.
