The present invention relates to a vehicle black box control method for saving storage space, the method comprising: (a3) an image obtaining step for obtaining an image taken through a camera module; (b3) an image processing step for classifying the image obtained in the image obtaining step into an interested area and a non-interested area for each frame through a controller unit; and (c3) a differential compressing step for compressing, for each frame, the interested area into a relatively high resolution image and the non-interested area into a relatively low resolution image so that the capacity of the image to be stored is relatively reduced, followed by the image processing step. The present invention is characterized by: securing storage space of a storage unit of a vehicle black box by classifying an image into an interested area and a non-interested area and then differentially compressing and storing each, resulting in an effect of being capable of increasing an image recording time; and performing, by background transcoding in a parking mode where a controller unit is idle, the classification and the compression and storage of the interested area and the non-interested area for the image obtained in a driving mode, thereby being capable of utilizing the previous capacity as is, without overload, while not increasing the capacity of the controller unit. |
