A method for performing switch exercising on a multiplex section ring, comprising: a user-selected multiplex section ring for switch exercising is received; the received multiplex section ring for switch exercising is stored in a first data structure; when the first data structure stores one multiplex section ring or a plurality of multiplex section rings, the one multiplex section ring or the plurality of multiplex section rings are removed from the first data structure to act as current switch exercising multiplex section rings, and all network elements on the current switch exercising multiplex section rings are stored in one second data structure or a plurality of second data structures corresponding to the current switch exercising multiplex section rings; when at least one second data structure within the one second data structure or the plurality of second data structures stores network elements, one network element is removed from the at least one second data structure storing network elements to act as a current switch exercising network element for performing switch exercising. Also provided is an electronic device for performing switch exercising on a multiplex section ring. The present invention improves multiplex section ring switch exercising efficiency and accuracy, and avoids network element omission. |
