Provided are a program, a communication device, and a method for providing electronic character information which, when a hearing-impaired person and the like have a conversation using communication terminals, assist the conversation by converting the voice of a speaker into electronic character information. A terminal of a user (U2) is a fixed-line phone (12) comprising, in a main body part (120), a receiver (122) that is a voice information input part, and a display part (121), and a conversation assistance program is installed in an embedded system within the main body part (120). A communication device (13) of a user (U3) is provided with a tablet (130), a display part (131) provided in the tablet, a wireless router (132) which connects the tablet (130) to a communication network, and a headset (133) connected to the tablet (130). A provider side is a provided with input operators (P1, P2) that each wear a headset (43) having a microphone and earphones and stand ready in front of personal computers (41, 42), and a server (44) communicably connected to the personal computers (41, 42). |
