Provided is a color contact lens which has, formed therein, a ring-shaped colored region having a color that is objectively matched to the color of an iris of a wearer, and which has natural appearance and can make the outer diameter of an iris of a wearer look bigger, can be efficiently applied to wide varieties of iris colors with fewer number of color specifications, can be mass-produced, and has a novel structure. A color contact lens (10) having, formed therein, a ring-shaped colored region (18) that has a larger outer diameter than the outer diameter of an iris (26) and a smaller inner diameter than the outer diameter of the iris (26), wherein the value of chroma in the colored region (18) is set to a value falling within a chroma zone (38) in which a chroma distribution (34) determined in a middle part (30), as observed in the direction of the diameter of the iris (26), of the iris (26) overlaps with a chroma distribution (36) determined in a peripheral part (32) of the iris (26), and wherein the chroma distribution (34) and the chroma distribution (36) are determined in a population of subjects to whom the lens is to be applied. |
