Provided are a photoelectric conversion module that can be mounted in a low height, has a large capacity, and uses a multicore fiber, and a large capacity information device with the same mounted in the device board. The photoelectric conversion module is constituted of: an optical subassembly (5) having optical elements (1) that send or receive an optical signal and an electronic circuit (2) that is connected to the optical elements mounted on an electrical wiring substrate (3); an optical connector (7) equipped with one or a plurality of multicore fibers (8); and an optical coupling unit that is provided with a plurality of optical waveguides (6) that are optically coupled to the optical elements and have individual optical path conversion units, and connects with the cores (17) of the multicore fiber at an end surface. Furthermore, in order from the top, the cores of the multicore fiber are optically coupled with optical elements in order from the closest to the multicore fiber. In addition, the optical elements are disposed offset by the spacing of the cores of the multicore fiber in the horizontal direction with respect to the optical subassembly. |
