Provided are a device, method, and program for cell image acquisition that suitably limit a region of interest for carrying out high magnification imaging within a colony region in response to morphological changes in the colony region when imaging a cell colony and cuts back on the amount of data to be processed and stored. The device is provided with: a maturity information acquisition unit (22) that acquires information concerning maturity of cultured cells; a colony region identification unit (21) that acquires cell images of cells imaged at a first magnification and identifies a cell colony region within that cell image; a region of interest determination unit (23) that determines the region of interest in the cell colony region on the basis of the information concerning maturity; and a high magnification image acquisition unit (24) that acquires a high magnification image wherein the region of interest is imaged at a second magnification higher than the first magnification. |
