A detection device which detects a finger gesture of an operator and is installed in a vehicle, the detection device being provided with: a detection unit (110) that is disposed on a steering column (10a) of the vehicle or in the vicinity thereof, and directed toward a steering wheel (10) to detect a predetermined range of space; a switching unit (13) that is provided on the back side of the steering wheel (10) and operated by the operator; and a control unit (120) that receives a signal input by the switching unit (13). Even when the detection unit detects a gesture in the predetermined range of space, the control unit invalidates the detection of the gesture if an input signal is present. |
