Provided is a novel method for inactivation of norovirus, without the use of a mercury lamp or and/or norovirus inactivation treatment agent containing hypochlorous acid, and without carrying out heat treatment, with which method norovirus can be inactivated, even if the targeted norovirus is one difficult to treat in the past. This norovirus inactivation method is characterized by irradiating the norovirus with ultraviolet light having an emission peak wavelength within the range of 260-300 nm.
