[Class 144 (ii)] A non-slip device for use on pneumatic tyres consists of a series of shoes 1 formed with tread ribs 2 and each comprising a relatively long arm 3 adapted to straddle one side of the tyre and a shorter arm 4 at the opposite side. A curved arm 8 pivoted at 6 on a reinforcement 5 on the arm 4 is forced against the tyre by a lug 11 on a hand lever 10 also pivoted (at 9) on the part 5. The lever 10 is provided with an eye 14 and hook 14a to receive chains 15 which are tightened by turnbuckles 18. |
