PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide measurement of a diesel engine emissions amount.SOLUTION: An emissions output amount of an engine, a diesel generator etc. may be determined from a load 202 on the engine and an exhaust volume 204 from the engine. Calculation 206 for chemicals such as nitrogen oxide (NOx) is performed for a measured load on the engine. The calculation may include determining an air flow amount in the engine from air pressure measurements and turbo compressor speed measurements. The calculation may also include determining a gas flow amount into the engine by deriving a fuel flow amount from known test results. The calculated emissions amount output may be used to ensure compliance of the engine with environmental regulations. A remote monitoring program may generate alerts when the engine fails to comply with environmental regulations.
