Disclosed are various embodiments for associating item images with item catalog data. An image of an item is obtained in one or more computing devices. The item is identified from the image based at least in part on data derived from reference images that are each associated with one or more items. Catalog data corresponding to the item is associated with the image. The catalog data is added to a merchant catalog in an electronic marketplace.

1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium embodying a program executable in a computing device, the program comprising:
code that obtains an image depicting at least one item; code that identifies the at least one item from the image based at least in part on data derived from a plurality of reference images that are associated with a respective at least one item of a catalog of items; code that, responsive to an indication that identifying the at least one item was incorrectly performed, tracks the image as a misidentified image; code that, responsive to an indication that identifying the at least one item was correctly performed, associates catalog data corresponding to the at least one item with the image; code that obtains the catalog data about the at least one item from a client responsive to at least one of: the indication that identifying the at least one item was incorrectly performed, or the code that identifies being unable to identify the at least one item; and code that adds the catalog data to a catalog of a merchant in an electronic marketplace.
