1. A sheet processing apparatus operable to add a perforation to a sheet on which bookbinding processing is performed, the apparatus comprising:
a first determination unit configured to determine whether or not a perforation is set for a sheet on which bookbinding processing is performed; a second determination unit configured to, when it is determined by the first determination unit that the perforation is set, determine whether or not a position of the set perforation is valid; and a change unit configured to, when the second determination unit determines that the position is not valid, change the position of the set perforation.
