[Class 4] Dual release mechanism for a parachute pack comprises a manually-operable cable 16 and a cable 18 connected to a static line 24. The cable 18 carries pins 26, 28, 30 and 32 which engage grummets 10 attached to pack flaps 6 and holes in locking cones 8 carried by pack flaps 4. The cable 16 is formed with a loop 40, which embraces the pin 26, so that pins 26-32 may be withdrawn either by a pull on the cable 18 or by pulling the cable 16 to engage the loop 40 with the crotch between the pin 26 and the cable 18. |
