PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize an electric field applied to cells in a plurality of holding parts arranged in a simple structure.SOLUTION: A cell observation apparatus 1 for observing cells held by a microplate 20 on which a plurality of wells 21 each of which holds a specimen S containing a cell, comprises: a microplate holder 11 on which the microplate 20 is placed; an electrostimulation part 16 under which a plurality of electrode pairs 17 including anodes 17b and cathodes 17a are arranged; and a data analysis device 50 for controlling a position of the electrostimulation part 16 so that the electrode pairs 17 are arranged in the wells 21 on the microplate 20. The data analysis device 50, by controlling a distance until the tips of the cathodes 17a come into contact with the specimens S by pressing the specimens S existing on the bottom surfaces of the wells 21, keeps a distance between the tips of the anodes 17b and the bottom surfaces at a predetermined distance. |
