PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of preventing reduction of product life cycle of a mounted drive unit of an automatic focus adjustment unit even under circumstances subjected to vibrations and/or shocks.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an automatic focus adjustment unit that performs automatic focus adjustment processing to adjust the focus to a subject; a speed acquisition section that acquires the speed of the imaging apparatus; a control unit that determines whether the automatic focus adjustment processing carried out by the automatic focus adjustment unit should be effective. When the movement speed acquired by the speed acquisition section is larger than a predetermined speed, the control unit sets the automatic focus adjustment processing by the automatic focus adjustment unit ineffective. |
