PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar battery device arranged to form a protection layer of a passivation layer, which can be manufactured at low cost.SOLUTION: A solar battery device comprises: a semiconductor substrate having first principal surface and a second principal surface located on the side opposite to the first principal surface, and having a p-type semiconductor region and an n-type semiconductor region which are stacked so that the p-type semiconductor region is located closest to the first principal surface, and the n-type semiconductor region is located closest to the second principal surface; a passivation layer including an aluminum oxide and disposed on the p-type semiconductor region located closest to the first principal surface; and a protection layer including a nitrogen-containing silicon oxide and disposed on the passivation layer. |
