An image forming apparatus enabled to perform double-sided image formation in which an image is formed on a first side of a recording medium, thereafter the recording medium is turned over, and then an image is formed on a second side of the recording medium, the image forming apparatus comprising:
a detection unit that detects a length of a conveyed recording medium; a determination unit that determines the number of recording media conveyable in the image forming apparatus in double-sided image formation, on a basis of a result of detection by the detection unit; and a control unit that controls, on a basis of a result of determination by the determination unit, an order in which image forming operations are performed when the double-sided image formation is performed on a plurality of recording media. |
