PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical instrument for use in a surgical procedure to implant an orthopedic hip prosthesis, which allows individual components of the prosthesis to be selected to fit the needs of a given patient's anatomy.SOLUTION: A rotary tool implement comprises: an elongated shaft 62 including a cutting head 66; a connector; and a number of colored depth marks 72, 74, 76, 78. Epoxy inks of the number of colored depth marks 72, 74, 76, 78 have colors different than epoxy inks of the other colored depth marks, and are positioned at locations on the elongated shaft corresponding to a predetermined depth of operation of the rotary tool implement. The number of colored depth marks 72, 74, 76, 78 extend throughout the outer circumference of the elongated shaft. |
