PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking toy having a wide variety of movements and game-style play features.SOLUTION: A pair of legs having a leg member 6 and a foot member 7 are supported on a body so as to be swingable forward and backward, and a crank mechanism and a driving source thereof are incorporated in the body. The crank mechanism compulsorily swings each of the pair legs alternately forward and backward. Surfaces (soles) of the pair of legs that come into contact with a floor surface are formed in a curved shape which is curved in a compulsory swinging direction such that a floor surface 52 and the pair of legs are in contact with each other at all times, thereby enabling a walking toy to walk with the pair of legs. A sole of the leg is a curved surface having a curvature center at forward or backward in a traveling direction with respect to a vertical axis 47 that passes through a swing center 14 of the leg. The sole comes into contact with the floor surface 52 at a position 48 forward or backward from the vertical axis 47 that passes through the swing center 14 of the leg, and floats gradually away from the floor surface 52 at further forward or backward from the position 48. When the body inclines, the toy advances in the direction opposite to the inclining direction of the body. |
