PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a crystalline titanate which has a small average particle size and a uniform particle size distribution and a crystalline titanic acid alkaline earth metal salt obtained by the method.SOLUTION: A method of producing a crystalline titanic acid alkaline earth metal salt comprises a step (a) of preparing an alkyl Cellosolve solution of an alkaline earth metal hydroxide in a content of water in the solution of higher than 5 wt.% and equal to or lower than 8 wt.%, a step (b) of mixing the solution with a titanium alkoxide so as to give an atomic ratio of alkaline earth metal to Ti (alkaline earth metal/Ti ratio) of 1-1.1, a step (c) of hydrolyzing in the presence of water equal to or greater than the equivalent of the molar number of the titanium alkoxide and a step (d) of maturing at temperatures of 50-120°C.
