Beverage production device (1) for receiving a capsule (5) for the preparation of a beverage comprising:
- a first enclosing part (2) comprising a cavity (15),
- a second enclosing part (3); the first and second enclosing parts (2, 3) being moveable relative to one another between an open position and a closed position;
- a sliding ramp (32) being positioned in a preset guiding position in the open position of the enclosing parts (2, 3) for guiding the capsule in an intermediate position;
- capsule holding means to support the capsule in the intermediate position against gravity;
wherein the capsule holding means comprises a capsule support member (34) which comprises a receiving surface for preventing the capsule from falling under gravity which is positioned at distance from the cavity (15) of the first enclosing part (2).
