[Class 131] A hair curler comprises a thin-walled tubular body 6 open at one end and with diametrically opposed slots 7 extending inwardly from the open end of the body to provide a pair of opposing fingers 8. 9, and a rib 11 extending inwardly from the open end of the body on the inner surface of the finger 9 and having its edge 12 spaced from the inner surface of the finger 8 to provide a hair-engaging recess 13, the ends of the fingers and the ribs being rounded at 14, 15, 16 respectively to provide a flaring mouth leading into the slots and the hairengaging recess. The rib 11 is preferably at right-angles to the slots 7 and the device a preferably made of plastic material so that. the point end of a tress of hair may be clamped between the inner surface of the finger 8 and the edge 12 by finger pressure while the hair is coiled on the body 6 by rotation of the curler by the fingers of the other hand grasping the knob 10. The curl is transferred to a bob pin and the curler removed in the usual way. |
