A portable communication device and a communication control method are provided, which can simplify user operations when relay is performed for connecting an external device to a network. A smartphone 1 is provided with: an LTE communication module 61, which performs wireless communication via LTE; a WiFi communication module 62, which performs wireless communication via WiFi; and a controller 10, which controls the LTE communication module 61 and the WiFi communication module 62. When the recharging is started while communication by the WiFi communication module 62 is suspended, the controller 10 permits the WiFi communication module 62 to perform communication in a first mode, in which an external device 200 connected via the WiFi communication module 62 is connected to an LTE network via the LTE communication module 61. |
