A modular fan unit (10) is provided, for mounting under a conventional radiator (40) having one or more panels (41, 42), in order to modify said conventional radiator (40) into a convection-assisted modified radiator. The modular fan unit (10) comprises a housing (11) an electric fan, and a low temperature cut-out (LTC) sensor (12). The LTC sensor (12) has magnetic attachment means (19) for attaching to one of the panels (41), and is adapted to activate the fan only upon water temperature in the panel (41) reaching a predetermined value. The unit (10) is positioned under the radiator (40) so as to drive air upwards between the panels (41, 42). During operation, the modular fan unit (10) acts so as to boost natural convection, thus enhancing the heat output and efficiency of the thus modified radiator. |
