<p>A computer implemented method comprising receiving an unstructured grid of a multi-dimensional region, such as one representing seismic data; partitioning at least a portion of the unstructured grid into subdomains based at least in part on a cell number criterion; generating a hierarchical representation of the at least a portion of the unstructured grid that includes the subdomains and the cells; indexing cells in the subdomains based at least in part on the cell number criterion to define a data structure, preferably using a space filling curve such as a Z-order, Peano, Hilbert, Moore or Gosper curve ; and assigning respective property values, such as water saturation, to respective indexed cells for at least a portion of the data structure.</p> |
