<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device capable of securing retention force of an inflator while improving its assembly workability. <P>SOLUTION: The inflator 14 capable of supplying inflation gas to an airbag 13 through an opening 37 is inserted and held in an inflator insertion part 50 within a retainer 41. The retainer 41 with the inflator 14 held therein is secured to an attachment opening 24 of a base plate 11, thereby each holding piece 47 is deformed so as to increase the retention force of the inflator 14. The retention force of the inflator 14 is not required to be increased more than necessary before the retainer 41 is attached to the attachment opening 24, so that the inflator 14 can be easily attached to the retainer 41 to improve the assembly workability.
