<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem with a conventional leveling implement wherein unnecessary ridges are formed along right and left side edges as the excessive soil on the surface of a field is pushed away to the right or left side of the leveling implement in the leveling work. <P>SOLUTION: A leveling part 3 includes a leveling support shaft 20 horizontally extending in the lateral direction relative to the direction of advancement of the work, and a plurality of leveling members 21 attached to the leveling support shaft 20 at regular intervals in the longitudinal direction. The leveling part 3 is comb-shaped on the whole. A horizontal laser signal 49 radiated from a laser light emitting device 48 disposed outside the field is received by a light receiving device 41, and a hydraulic cylinder 30 is operated according to the height of the leveling part 3 detected by the light receiving device 41.
