[Class 20(iv)] [Also in Groups VIII and XVI] A panel is made by assembling a layer of latex foam rubber which can take and retain an impression in relief and on either side, a fabric such as cotton, wool, rayon, glass fibres, vinyl resin fibres or nylon, and a backing material such as a composite board, metal, or sheets of synthetic resins, imparting a relief design on to the fabric and then curing the rubber. In Fig. 8, the high portion of fabric 1 is supported by cured latex foam 8, the rubber being collapsed in areas 7 and the backing 10 being secured to the rubber. A completed panel is shown in Figs. 13 and 14 having decorative ridges 15 and holes 14 for handles. |
