The method involves inserting a threaded rod (37) in a location below the surface of water, and lowering an anchor nut that is provided with an internal thread. The anchor nut is screwed on an end (25) of the threaded rod. The threaded rod is releasably connected to an end of a guide element (11). The anchor nut is lowered over the guide element. The anchor nut is screwed by placing an end of a rotating tool at the anchor nut. Another end of the rotating tool is arranged above water surface by driving of the tool.
