<p>The invention relates to a panel for the luggage compartment of a vehicle. The panel (8) includes a generally metal structural portion (12) and a rim (10) that is mounted onto the rear surface of the panel (8). The rim forms a space capable of accumulating runoff water or spraying water that penetrates into said space essentially between the side walls (14) of the rim and the corresponding walls of the structural portion (12) of the panel (8). A sealing means, e.g. a foam seal, is arranged in particular between the bottom wall (13) of the rim, forming the space for holding the water, and the corresponding wall of the structure (12) of the panel. The sealing means can also extend along the side walls (14) of the rim depending on the final orientation of the holding space when the panel is in the maximum open position. The sealing means is arranged such that it does not interfere with the connection between the finishing element and the openable body section, particularly in the event of an impact on the finishing element. The sealing means makes it possible to at least temporarily retain the amount of water when opening the luggage compartment, particularly after strong rainfall or after the vehicle passes through an automatic carwash, and thus prevent unwanted water from entering into the space of the luggage compartment.</p> |
