<p>A storage assembly 20 for use in a motor vehicle for transporting objects having upper and lower parts 21, 22 that are hingedly connected together and also hingedly connected, via the lower part 22, to an interior panel of the motor vehicle such as a side wall 12 of a centre console 10. In a stowed configuration, the two parts are aligned with one another so as to lie substantially flush against the side wall of the centre console and, in a fully deployed configuration, the two parts are arranged to form a substantially L-shaped support for transporting one or more objects. The upper part may be attached to a support member, side wall 12, by control arms 31, 32, creating a double four bar linkage. There may be a pocket (29, Fig.4a) attached to the side wall 12 urged open by steel springs that in turn force the upper and lower parts into at least a partially deployed position. A latch mechanism (40, Fig.5a) may be provided.</p> |
