The connector 110 has a hollow body 12 with an opening 20A, 22A at each end, into which beams can be inserted, and a number of protrusions 30 which press against the beams to form a tight fit. The bracket may be rectangular with openings opposite each other, and contain a ridge 132 halfway between the openings to limit the length of beam which may be inserted. The protrusions may be on two adjacent walls 16 and be formed by pressing a shape, such as a cone, in the wall of the body; they may extend from the ridge and reduce in height towards the openings to provide a chamfered fit. There may be slots 140, 142 in one of the walls to allow some flexibility when inserting the beams. The bracket may be used for roof battens or struts and a method of use is also provided. |
