<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily expand pool capacity while continuing I/O from a host computer to a logical disk and keeping redundancy of data, in an environment where the redundancy of other pools cannot be removed and a RAID level of the pool in which capacity shortage occurs cannot be changed. <P>SOLUTION: The storage device forms a virtual logical disk using a pool and storage capacity of the pool, and keeps redundancy of two or more based on the logical disk. When data volume stored in the storage capacity of the pool having been allocated to a host device exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the storage device separates a physical disk obtained by degrading the redundancy by one, among the physical disks forming the pool, from the pool, deletes data of the physical disk, integrates the physical disk whose data has been deleted into the pool, to expand the storage capacity of the pool. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
