Provided are a text processing method and device. The method includes: determining that a period during which a text area on a touch screen is touched reaches a threshold value; amplifying and displaying the text in the text area on the touch screen corresponding to the text area; and according to an operation detected in an amplified display area, processing the text in the text area. The present invention solves the technical problem in the related art that the probability of unintended operations of a user is increased due to the fact that the text displayed on a display screen is too small, and achieves the technical effect of reducing the possibility of unintended operations occurring when a user locates or selects the text.
