Ground fault direction determination for medium or high voltage distribution networks

The invention concerns a method for determining the direction of a ground fault in a three-phase electrical power system. The method is remarkable in that it comprises the steps of filtering a residual voltage signals and a residual current signals with non-integer order harmonics band pass filters to extract the information of fault direction.
