PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte battery that improves safety on the occurrence of an internal short-circuit without deteriorating large current performance.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery includes: an outer case; a positive electrode that is housed in the outer case; a negative electrode that is housed in the outer case so as to be separated from the positive electrode and that includes negative electrode active material; and a nonaqueous electrolyte that is filled in the outer case. The negative electrode has: a current collector; and a negative electrode layer that is formed on a single surface or both surfaces of the current collector and that includes active material. The negative electrode layer has: at least one main negative electrode layer that is formed on the surface of the current collector and that includes active material; and a surface layer that is formed on a surface of the main negative electrode layer and that includes active material different from the active material in the main negative electrode layer. The active material included in the surface layer is a lithium-titanium composite oxide having a spinel structure. |
