The present invention relates to a cyclic redundancy check apparatus and a cyclic redundancy check method. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the cyclic redundancy check (CRC) apparatus, in which the highest degree of a CRC generating polynomial is n, comprises: a plurality of sub-block cyclic redundancy check units for dividing a transport block into a plurality of sub-blocks, receiving a bit sequence from each sub-block, and performing a cyclic redundancy check on the same; and a Galois field addition unit for Galois-field-adding second codes which are outputted from the sub-block cyclic redundancy check units. More specifically, each of the sub-block cyclic redundancy check units includes: a Galois field multiplication unit for generating a weighted bit sequence by Galois-field-multiplying the bit sequence and a first code which is obtained by performing a CRC operation on a sub-block weighted code which indicates a weighted value allocated to each sub-block; and a linear feedback shift register which includes n registers, Galois-field-adds the weighted bit sequence to each register to be received as an input, and outputs a second code. |
