[Class 38 (i)] A cord grip for an electric coupling, e.g. a lamp holder or ceiling rose having a removable cap 7, comprises a seating formed by notches 17 in the side walls of a slot 10 provided in the bridge 9 on the body 1 of the coupling, the conductors 3 being clamped in the said notches by a member 14 pressed down by the cap. The member 14 comprises an enlarged head portion 16 and a bifurcated stem portion 15 slidable endwise in a slot 11 in the body and having outward projections 18 which spring over shoulders 13 of the body 1 to prevent withdrawal of the member from the body, whilst permitting a limiting sliding movement. Alternatively, the body may have a slot for each of the bifurcations 15, the projections 18 being turned inwards, Fig. 3 (not shown). Further, instead of the slot between the bifurcations extending transversely to the width of member 14 as shown in Fig. 1, it may extend through the width thereof, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown). In the modification shown in Fig. 6, the clamping member has a cylindrical head 140 and stem, the latter being divided into four parallel legs 150 having catches 180 at their ends which snap under the edge of a round hole 110 in the body. The slot 11 need not extend completely through the body, neither need the stem of the clamping member be bifurcated provided each has suitable stops and/or catches respectively.
