<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of performing IP communication by bidirectional communication via one pair of differential transmission paths in an interface for performing data transmission such as video, exchange and authentication of connection device information, and communication of device control data by one cable.SOLUTION: A receiving device comprises: a receiving unit for receiving first data, which is video data made up of a baseband transmitted by an external apparatus, by a differential signal via a plurality of baseband transmission paths included in an HDMI (R) cable; and a communication unit that transmits second data different from the first data to the external apparatus via reserved lines and HPD (Hot-Plug Detect) lines which are allocated to pins with prescribed pin numbers of a type C connector, receives third data different from the first data from the external apparatus via the reserved lines and the HPD lines, and subtracts a signal with the second data from a signal with the third data.</p> |
