<p>A service vehicle for aircraft comprising a wheeled chassis 2, an operators cab 8 mounted on a forward end of the chassis 2 and a container body 10 mounted on a rear portion of the chassis 2 behind the operators cab 8 via a lifting means 12, which may be a scissor lift permitting the container body 10 to be elevated with respect to the chassis 2 to allow the container body to be aligned with a service entrance of an aircraft. A front loading platform 14 being provided at a front end of the container body 10 and a rear loading platform 20 being provided at a rear end of the container body 10. Sensing means, which may be cameras or ultrasonic proximity sensors are provided on or adjacent a rear of the body 10 for transmitting information to an operator in the cab 8 such that the operator can manoeuvre the vehicle to align the rear loading platform into position adjacent a service opening of an aircraft without leaving the cab 8.</p> |
