PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a nitrogen-containing carbon material having higher oxygen reduction activity in an electrode reaction in comparison with a conventional nitrogen-containing carbon material.SOLUTION: This method for producing a nitrogen-containing carbon material includes a step for carbonizing a precursor of the nitrogen-containing carbon material containing azulmic acid and a transition metal, and the step has a first step for applying a first heat treatment to the precursor, a second step for removing at least a part of the transition metal from the precursor to which the first heat treatment has been applied, and a third step for applying a second heat treatment to the precursor from which at least the part of the transition metal has been removed. |
